How to set up a schedule on your kirri smart diffuser

To set up a schedule on your kirri smart diffuser, pair it with the kirri app over Bluetooth, then open the scheduling feature and set the times you want it to run. Choose an intensity for that window, save it, and the diffuser follows that routine.

This guide covers the Micro, Element, Beacon and Pillar. It also runs through the usual reasons a schedule doesn't seem to start, because most of them take a minute to fix.

Step 1: pair your diffuser with the kirri app

kirri smart diffusers connect to your phone by Bluetooth, not wifi. Download the kirri app, check it has Bluetooth permission in your phone's settings, and stand within 1 to 2 metres of the diffuser while you pair.

When the app searches for devices, look for these names:

  • Element: shows as "AERO SM.A3"
  • Beacon, Pillar and Micro: show as "AJBLE100"

Got more than one diffuser? Pair them one at a time, with the others switched off, so you know which is which.

Step 2: fit the oil and check the power

  • Oil: screw the bottle straight in. There's no water to add. The Micro and Element take Micro Oil (15ml), and the Beacon and Pillar take Macro Oil (30ml) or Aura Oil (100ml).
  • Micro, Beacon and Pillar: these plug in at the wall. They have no battery.
  • Element: rechargeable, with about 12 hours on low or 8 hours on high per charge. It also runs while plugged in.

Not sure which bottle you need? Our diffuser oil compatibility guide has a simple table.

Step 3: choose an intensity

Each intensity level mists in a short burst, then pauses for 120 seconds before the next one.

  • Delicate: 6 seconds on, 120 seconds off
  • Subtle: 12 seconds on, 120 seconds off
  • Radiant: 18 seconds on, 120 seconds off
  • Intense: 24 seconds on, 120 seconds off

Start on delicate. Live with it for a day or two before you go up a level. If none of the four feels right, the app also lets you set a custom intensity.

Step 4: set your schedule

In the app, open your paired diffuser and go to the scheduling feature. Set when you want it to start and stop, choose the intensity for that window, then save. The app gets updated from time to time, so if a label looks a little different, follow the prompts on screen.

A few ideas to start with:

  • Weekday evenings: a window covering the hours you're usually in the living room.
  • Weekend mornings: a shorter window on subtle while the house is busy.
  • Guests coming over: radiant for the afternoon and evening, then back to delicate.

Why isn't my schedule running?

If the diffuser doesn't start when you expect, work through this list. It's nearly always one of these, and none of them means you've done anything wrong.

  • Pairing: check the diffuser still shows as connected in the app. If it doesn't, stand within 1 to 2 metres and pair it again.
  • App version: update the kirri app from your phone's app store, reopen it and check your schedule saved.
  • Oil: make sure the bottle is screwed in fully and still has oil in it.
  • Power or charge: check the Micro, Beacon or Pillar is plugged in and switched on at the wall, and that the Element has charge or is plugged in.
