Description
The Car Diffuser is a quiet, analogue object designed to live in motion. A weighted glass vessel and black metal lid work together to guide how scent moves through the cabin, turning the interior into a softly perfumed space rather than a place for harsh fresheners.
At its centre is a black metal lid with an adjustable opening. Twist it a fraction to reveal a narrow aperture for a gentle veil of fragrance; turn it further and the opening widens, allowing more scent to travel up the wick and evaporate into the air. The mechanism recalls the ease of a screw top spice container, reinterpreted in metal and glass to give you precise, tactile control over the intensity of scent.
Inside, a simple wick draws fragrance from any 100ml Traditional Refill in our Iconic scent range, releasing it gradually into the air. Warm days naturally amplify the aroma as heat encourages evaporation, while cooler weather invites you to open the lid a little wider or briefly remove it to deepen the scent. There are no buttons, batteries or cables, only silent evaporation and simple design.
Unlike electronic diffusers or disposable cardboard and ceramic fresheners that fade within days, the Car Diffuser is made to endure. Refillable, understated and resilient to daily use, it scents your car for months while sitting discreetly in a cup holder or door compartment, becoming part of the interior rather than a distraction from it.
Inspiration
The Car Diffuser is inspired by long drives, open roads and the small rituals that turn transit into time for yourself. It treats the cabin as a personal space, a moving room that can be shaped by scent in the same way as a home or studio. Its form is deliberately pared back so that what you notice most is the atmosphere it creates.
As the wick breathes fragrance into the air, the car becomes a vessel for shifting notes and changing light. Windows closed bring a cocooning scent; windows down invite a gentle interplay between fresh air and perfume. A light mist of room or travel spray on the foot mats can layer an extra dimension of scent without disturbing the materials around you.
Rituals of Atmosphere
The Car Diffuser is designed for intimate interiors in motion, turning the cabin into a natural extension of home.
Its weighted vessel sits discreetly in the car, using gentle evaporation and an adjustable lid to create a soft, continuous scent rather than a sharp burst of fragrance.
Consider these applications for the most balanced and enduring fragrance experience:
- Everyday driving and commuting: Keep the diffuser upright in a secure cup holder in the centre console or car door so it remains stable while you drive and scents the cabin quietly in the background.
- Cooler months and lower evaporation: On colder days, open the lid further or remove it briefly to deepen the scent, and pair it with a few spritzes of Travel Spray or Room Spray on the car mats, not on upholstery, to build a richer atmosphere.
- Warm days and open windows: Heat will naturally amplify the aroma. If you wind the windows down, airflow will carry much of the fragrance out of the car, so you may wish to open the lid a little more or refresh with a light spray on the mats.
- Care and handling: The diffuser does not include a leak lock system, so if it is tipped on its side or upside down it may leak, although the wick will slow the flow of liquid. If any oil spills, clean the area promptly with a soft cloth and soapy water.
- Longer drives and shared trips: Use the adjustable lid to find a level of scent that feels comfortable for everyone in the car, keeping the diffuser upright and in sight so it becomes a small ritual you return to each time you begin a drive.
Compact Capacity
The Car Diffuser is designed for use with kirri Traditional Refills in 100 ml size, ideal for the close interior of a car. A simple wick draws fragrance up from the vessel and releases it through gentle evaporation, creating a soft, continuous scent rather than an overpowering burst. Keep the diffuser upright in a secure cup holder in the console or car door so it remains stable while you drive and scents the cabin quietly in the background.
Design
A weighted glass vessel and black metal lid work together to control how scent moves through the space. The lid functions like a refined screw top spice container. Twist it slightly to reveal a small opening for a light veil of fragrance, or open it further to widen the aperture and deepen the scent. There is no leak lock system, so the diffuser should always be kept upright. If it is tipped on its side or upside down it may leak, although the wick will slow the flow of liquid.
Lasting Rituals
Fragrance strength can be adjusted as the day and weather shift. Warm days naturally amplify the aroma as heat encourages evaporation. In cooler months, open the lid further or occasionally remove it entirely for a brief time to encourage fragrance before replacing it. For an added layer, pair the diffuser with a few spritzes of Travel Spray or Room Spray on the car mats, not on upholstery, to build a richer atmosphere without affecting delicate materials. If you wind the windows down, airflow will carry much of the fragrance out of the car, so you may wish to open the lid a little more or refresh with a light spray on the mats.
Refillable by Design
Each refill is presented in a cardboard box, designed to extend the life of the diffuser and the atmosphere it creates.
