Christmas in Australia rarely looks like the cards. It's 34 degrees, the cricket is on, and someone is arguing about whether prawns count as lunch. Not every Australian Christmas is hot. Up in the Tasmanian highlands, December nights can still run cool, and that's where this scent starts: a timber cabin among old Huon Pine, cedar leaf hung on the door, citrus peel drying by the fire and cranberries simmering on the stove with clove and bay.
The notes: Huon Pine and cedar leaf with lemon, orange and cranberry. Bay rum and clove add warmth, jasmine and lavender sit in the heart, and cedarwood finishes it.

On the bench a plate of lamingtons is slowly going soft in the heat, and one by one the family wanders in, following the smell.

Which format for which room?
- Reed diffuser: set and forget. A 200ml bottle typically lasts 1 to 6 months, so one bought in early December should see you past New Year. Keep it out of direct sun, as summer heat uses the oil faster.
- Room spray: for the moment before guests arrive, or after the prawns. A few sprays in the dining room or bathroom is plenty.
